Sometimes you may need to edit multiple ad sets within different campaigns. Instead of manually editing each ad set, use bulk editing to make widespread changes for targeting, bids, budgets, statuses or schedules. Here’s how:

  1. Open the 'All Campaigns' tab and check the box beside the campaigns containing the ad sets you wish to edit

2. Open the 'Ad Sets' tab and check the box beside the ad sets you wish to edit

3. Below the 'Ad Sets' tab, select the desire bulk edit option to make changes

To make adjustments in targeting for multiple ad sets:

1. Click on the “Edit Targeting” dropdown menu and select one of the four available options:

  • Placements - Select placements to change where your ads will be seen by device type, platform (Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network), and feed type
  • Genders - Select genders to adjust the targeted gender for your audience (male, female, or both male and female)
  • Age Ranges - Select age ranges to adjust the age range for your audience or to add additional age ranges
  • Locations - Select locations to adjust the targeted location for your audience by country, region, city, zip code, or DMA code

2. After clicking on an available targeting option, an editing modal will pop up allowing you to make adjustments across your selected ad sets.

You will not be able to bulk edit placements for ad sets that have different placement targeting or objectives. To successfully bulk edit placements, select ad sets with matching placement targeting and objectives.

Be careful when bulk editing targeting by location! If your ad set selection includes mixed targeting by country, we will surface a warning to confirm you’d like to continue with your update. Your updated location targeting will be applied to ALL ad sets selected.

To make adjustments in scheduling for multiple ad sets:

  1. Select “Edit Schedule”
  2. After clicking, an editing modal will pop up allowing you to edit the start and end time of the selected ad sets.
  3. After making updates, select “Apply schedule” to save.

You cannot edit the start date if it has already passed. Scheduling will be set to your account time zone.

To make adjustments in budgets for multiple ad sets:

  1. Select “Edit Budgets”
  2. After clicking, an editing modal will pop up allowing you to edit your current budget for all selected ad sets together on the left or all selected ad sets individually on the right.
  3. To adjust all selected ad sets together, start by choosing an editing option. You can adjust all ad set budgets to a specified amount or increase / decrease budgets by a percentage amount.
  4. After adjusting budget amounts, select “Apply” to save.

To make adjustments in bidding for multiple ad sets:

  1. Select “Edit Bid”
  2. After clicking, an editing modal will pop up allowing you to edit your current bids for all selected ad sets together on the left or all selected ad sets individually on the right.
  3. To adjust all selected ad sets together, start by choosing an editing option. You can adjust all ad set bids to a specified amount or increase / decrease budgets by a percentage amount.
  4. After adjusting bid amounts, select “Apply” to save.

If an ad set is set to autobid, you will need to change the bid type to “Manual” before you can specify a bid amount.

Tip: When bulk editing bids, make sure to review the bid types for all ad sets that you are changing to ensure you don’t make an unintended update. For example, likely your oCPM and CPC targets are different, so updating a group of ad sets to a single bid in both your oCPM and CPC campaigns would have a negative result.
